Little Strings: Pluck & Play
Little Strings: Pluck & Play (4 - 5 years) introduce violin, viola, cello, and bass. Through hands-on learning, students discover what each instrument has in common as well as what makes them unique. Students learn how each instrument is held and played. After the initial introduction, the class focuses on violin and then cello. Position, bow holds, and open string plucking will be explored. Games, instrument construction (box violins), rhythmic activities, and more will provide a strong foundation for future learning. Families do not need to have an instrument at home for practice as this is designed as an introduction.
Logistics
Mondays 11 – 11:45am (6-week session beginning 7/6)
Wednesdays 11 – 11:45am (6-week session beginning 7/8)
Tuition (per student): $150
To keep things flexible, families sign up for a particular day but are welcome to drop-in to other classes as needed to accommodate summer schedules for a total of 6 classes.
