Joy of Music Youth Orchestra (JYO)

JYO is an exciting orchestral experience for advanced string, woodwind, brass, and percussion players to enjoy making music together while enhancing their orchestral skills.

Rehearsals focus on developing musicianship and ensemble skills while refining interpretation, intonation, and sound in a supportive, collaborative environment. The orchestra presents two annual concerts each year.

Highlights from the ’25–’26 season included a festive holiday concert featuring works by Mozart, Vaughan Williams, Holst, Leroy Anderson, and music from The Polar Express, as well as a special Orchestra Residency Week with world-renowned violinist Midori. Through her Orchestra Residencies Program (ORP), Midori led workshops and rehearsals focused on collaboration, community engagement, and artistic growth, culminating in a public performance with JYO.

Teacher recommendation for new students is required. Students not taking private lessons at JOMP are welcome but should schedule an audition. Please call Caroline Reiner-Williams at 508-856-9541 or email caroline@jomp.org.
