Angel Hernandez Dominguez is an accomplished violinist and luthier whose career bridges the worlds of performance and craftsmanship. Born in Cuba, he studied violin making at the renowned luthier’s school in Querétaro, Mexico, and has since built more than 30 fine handmade instruments, now owned by professional musicians throughout the U.S., Mexico, and Europe.
As a performer, Mr. Hernandez has appeared as a violin soloist with the Aguascalientes Symphony Orchestra, the Querétaro Philharmonic, and the OFUNAM Philharmonic Orchestra in Mexico City. Since relocating to the United States in 2006, he has maintained an active performance schedule as a member of the Nashaway Piano Trio, the Vista Philharmonic at Groton Hill, and the Bangor Symphony Orchestra, where he serves as Assistant Concertmaster.
In addition to his work as a luthier and performer, Angel has taught privately at Groton Hill Music for over a decade, and is currently an Artist-in-Residence at Wachusett Regional High School. We are thrilled to welcome him to the Joy of Music faculty in 2025!
