Joy of Music String Ensemble (JOMSE)
Joy of Music Summer String Ensemble (JOMSE) offers developing string players the opportunity to build ensemble experience in a supportive and collaborative setting. Students will enjoy making music together while strengthening foundational skills and growing in confidence as ensemble musicians.
Rehearsals focus on developing musicianship and ensemble skills while reinforcing note-reading, rhythm, tone production, and playing in tune. This 6-week summer session, meeting weekly, is designed as a bridge between Joy of Music String Ensemble 2 and more advanced groups such as Concertante Strings or Sinfonietta, helping students build the independence and listening skills needed for the next level of ensemble playing.
Level guideline: Beginning Suzuki Book 2 through Book 3 (or equivalent). Students should be comfortable reading notes and rhythms independently.

Tuition: $150
Teacher recommendation for new students is required. Students not taking private lessons at JOMP are welcome but must schedule an audition or submit a video recording. Please call or email caroline@jomp.org for more information.
