Sinfonietta Chamber Strings

Sinfonietta Chamber Strings (SCS) gives intermediate to advanced players the inspiring experience of playing in a small string ensemble. Sinfonietta has a rich and musical history at JOMP. Many Sinfonietta musicians also play in our Wednesday night youth orchestra known as JYO, and perform on stage at Mechanics Hall each spring. Rehearsals focus on ensemble playing, musical expression, and building confidence in a supportive group setting.
This year, Sinfonietta students will also participate in JOMP’s Orchestra Residency Week with world-renowned violinist Midori, taking place in March 2026. Through her Orchestra Residencies Program (ORP), Midori and her team will work with students in rehearsals and workshops centered on collaboration, creativity, and musical growth. The residency will conclude with a public performance on Saturday, March 7.
The level guideline for SCS is Suzuki Book 4 and up. Students must be taking private lessons.
Teacher recommendation for new students is required. Students not taking private lessons at JOMP are welcome but need to schedule an audition. Please call or email Caroline Reiner-Williams at 508-856-9541 or caroline@jomp.org to arrange a placement audition.

Please arrive 15 minutes early to warm up and tune.
