Piano Explorers
Piano Explorers (4.5 – 6 years) is a playful introduction to piano. The perfect class for learners who need to incorporate energetic movement with small amounts of focused learning. Full body rhythm games keep things hopping while melody games help Jompers to embody melodic movement. Finger plays build finger strength and reinforces piano finger numbers. Students learn the geography of the keyboard and become familiar with the musical alphabet (A-G and never H). They also learn about PITCH (highs and lows), DYNAMICS (soft to loud), TEMPO (slow to fast), and ARTICULATION (smooth to bouncy). This class is designed specifically for the way young children learn best – through play, imagination, repetition, movement, and active exploration.
Logistics
Mondays 11 – 11:45am (6-week session beginning 7/6)
Wednesdays 11 – 11:45am (6-week session beginning 7/8)
Wednesdays 4 – 4:45pm (6-week session beginning 7/8)
Tuition (per student): $150
To keep things flexible, families sign up for a particular day but are welcome to drop-in to other classes as needed to accommodate summer schedules for a total of 6 classes.
