Percussion & Piano

Percussion & Piano, a playfully energetic introduction to music fundamentals through hands-on learning of percussion instruments and keyboard. The class is designed the way young musicians learn best – through imagination, repetition, and active exploration. Throughout the 12-weeks students will explore pulse, tempo, rhythm, dynamics, pitch and playing technique. The first six weeks of class focuses on a variety of hand percussion instruments and xylophones. This learning is then transferred to keyboard, introducing students to the geography of the piano, creating learning anchors that will help them build music knowledge.
