Joy of Music Summer String Ensemble (Preparatory) introduces young string players to their very first ensemble experience in a fun, supportive, and low-pressure environment. Over the course of this 6-week session, students will explore the basics of playing together - learning how to start and stop as a group, listen to one another, and develop a steady sense of rhythm.
Designed especially for newer players who have completed their first year of private lessons, this ensemble focuses on building confidence and comfort in a group setting while reinforcing foundational skills. Students will experience the joy of making music with others while developing important ensemble habits that will prepare them for future participation in groups like Joy of Music String Ensemble I during the school year.
The level guideline is early Suzuki Book 1 (or equivalent). Students must be enrolled in private lessons.
