Recorder Ensembles

 **RECORDER CLASSES & ENSEMBLES ~ ages 7 to Adult 

Recorder is a wonderful instrument for children and adults that can bring joy for a lifetime. It is an instrument in its own right with an extensive intermediate and advanced repertoire. It can also serve as a first instrument that provides a good transition to another instrument. Beginning classes are limited to 3 or 4 students. Private recorder lessons are also available for children and adults. ******************************************************************************

*BEGINNING RECORDER CLASS ~ 7 year-olds

(includes $10 for soprano recorder and music)

Children will be introduced to reading and writing notes and rhythm patterns and will learn to play short pieces on the soprano recorder focusing on the notes in the G clef.

Students will be introduced to the basics of playing the soprano recorder. The class will focus on learning to read and play in the G clef. Students will build a repertoire of short pieces they will be able to play for enjoyment and discover the fun of playing duets together

 TUTTI RECORDER ENSEMBLE

Upper intermediate to advanced players will explore recorder ensemble music by Renaissance to Contemporary composers. In addition to soprano recorder, participants must be able to play at least one other member of the recorder family. Teacher recommendation required. ******************************************************************************

 ** Additional Classes and Ensembles for children and adults already playing the recorder can be formed as needed.

Placements will be made based on age, level and teacher/student scheduling availability. We may recommend private lessons if there are not enough other students to form an appropriate group.
