World Drumming will resume when we reopen the building.
Students will experience the power of the drum to unite people and uplift the spirit. Using a variety of Djembe drums, bells and shakeres, and rhythm instruments, each group will create a community through sound as they develop their listening and ensemble skills and their inner sense of rhythm. Learning to play two or more rhythms simultaneously helps students extend their attention span, deepen their concentration, and improve their eye-hand coordination. World Drumming, which draws on African, Latin and Asian rhythms, is an art form in itself, as well as a terrific foundation and complement for later instrumental study.
