Music & Movement

This class provides an introduction to the fun of interacting musically with other children in a small music class without parents or caregivers.  Children learn a variety of songs, tapping the beat or the rhythm of the words as they sing. Using the songs they have learned, contrasts in rhythm, tempo, dynamics, timbre, phrasing and form are explored through rhythm instruments and movement.  When a child is ready for private lessons, learning to play an instrument comes more easily to children who have already begun to internalize  these elements of music through their bodies and voices.
