Weekly chamber music groups are offered this summer in-person. There is also a two-week intensive Chamber Music Workshop available.
Playing chamber music is not only deeply satisfying musically, it instills the value of being well prepared, so you can contribute fully as a strong member of a musical team. Participation in chamber music also develops listening skills to a very high level, because the give and take between parts requires each player to hear the totality of the music beyond their own part. Our chamber music program is open to intermediate and advanced students who are ready for the challenge of playing one on a part and are eager to explore the rich chamber music repertoire. Teacher recommendation required. An audition may be required for students who are not taking private lessons at Joy of Music so we can make an appropriate placement based on playing level.
Program will adhere to all Covid-safe policies and state regulations ~ Masks required to be worn inside the building at all times. Students will be distanced 6 to 10 feet apart.
(An online version is also available using Cyborg Llama or Acapella software for students unable to attend in-person classes.)
Class size limit 3 to 5 students Chamber music will be scheduled at the convenience of the Faculty Coach and participants.
