A growing, thriving community music school, the Joy of Music Program (JOMP) seeks teachers who meet the following criteria.
- Masters Degree preferred in music, performance or related field (Bachelor Degrees and alternative training experience also considered)
- Private lesson teaching experience required
- Enthusiasm for teaching all levels from beginning to advanced
- Flexible approach to teaching that can focus on goals and needs of a variety of students
Currently, JOMP has a faculty of over 40 outstanding musicians who have helped build this highly regarded community music school. Faculty find teaching at JOMP very satisfying because of the respect and support given to faculty and the enthusiasm of the student body. Based on a developmental approach to music education, JOMP offers a full and varied curriculum starting with Music and Movement for preschoolers. Enrichment classes also include Creative Movement and Drama, Children’s Chorus, World Drumming, Jazz Ensembles, Chamber Music, JOMP Youth Orchestra (JYO) and a variety of small string and wind ensembles.
